Almost Real

It has been almost 2 years since I posted my composition Something Real here in my blog, and who would have thought that someday, it would be “something real”.

Supposed to be, it would have been our entry for the Original Composition Category in the Battle of the Bands held last CoE Night 2007, but due to some whatever reasons, the organizers had to decide that the competing bands should only perform a cover of any song of their choice, and the winning band gets to perform their original composition. Our band, Withdrawal, won. But again, due to some reasons (CoE Night 2007 lacked time management), Something Real was never performed.

I was totally cool with that. It’s just that the organizers required the competing bands to have an original composition, and yet because of some inconsiderable faults, they suddenly decided not to have the compositions performed, JUST LIKE THAT.

Hindi ako nagrereklamo kasi hindi na-perform yung composition ko. Honestly I was having second thoughts kung ipapahiram ko ba sa Withdrawal yung kanta. The song is something personal to me kasi. What I am pointing out is yung efforts ng lahat ng banda na kasali. Hindi yata biro mag-compose. Mahirap din mag-arrange. Buti na lang si MJ minani lang yung pag-arrange sa composition ko, na-arrange nya yun within like 20 mins! Halimaw kasi yung batang yun eh. Pinainom yata ng Promil ng nanay niya.

Well, tapos na yun. Matagal na. Almost 1 month na rin ang lumipas. At bakit nga ba ngayon lang ako nag-post ng tungkol sa Battle of the Bands? Simple lang ang dahilan: Tinatamad ako.
