Lots of Pain

Dolores O'Riordan released her first solo album few months ago and i can't accept it myself that I was the last to know!

She IS (not was, cuz i think she didn't leave after all) the vocals of The Cranberries, and yes I'm a fan of them since Zombie which is one of their biggest hits in the mid 90s (siguro '95 yun, grade 2 yata ako nun... kitams, bata pa lang adik na). At first I thought that they're goin to disband and all but she said they (including Noel Hogan) were just pursuing some solo stuff.

Anyways Dolores' album is entitled Are You Listening? and I personally think that the album is a "softer" version of her but still I cannot deny the fact that it still has that touch of The Cranberries. Their signature dark-mood tune (which is what I like about this band) is evident in the track October. The first single off her album is Ordinary Day which sounds like a mother-talkin-to-daughter tune... not suprising cuz she has been a mother for quite some years now. My favorite track from the album is When We Were Young.

I remember that the first album that i ever bought was the greatest hits album Stars: The Best of The Cranberries 1992-2002 (3rd Year HS pa ko nun). That was a cassette tape. Pero Original! Haha! Anyways, I think I'd like to get a copy of Dolores' first solo album but I think it's not yet released here in Asia (at saka mahal, hindi ko afford). I hope I can get it from Limewire and put it in my iPod instead.

Anyways, did you know that dolor is a spanish word which means pain? The plural of it is dolores so i guess it means "lots of pain".

Geez, what a painful name.
